LIVE WEBCAM WITH FOXES IN THE WILD

More info: The European fox or red fox (Vulpes vulpes) is the largest of the true foxes and is present across the entire Northern Hemisphere including most of North America, Europe and Asia plus parts of Northern Africa.

Foxes are part of the Canidae family, which means they're related to wolves, jackals, and dogs. Red foxes are solitary hunters with a diet consisting of small animals like rabbits, rodents, birds, frogs and even earthworms. Foxes are quite flexible with their diet and will vary it according to their habitat - they will also eat fruit and vegetables and if around human populations, will scavenge rubbish and pet and bird food.

Geographically, the red fox has the widest range of the more than 280 animals in the order Carnivora. While its natural habitat is a mixed landscape of scrub and woodland, its flexible diet allows it to adapt to many environments. As a result, its range is the entire Northern Hemisphere, from the Arctic Circle to North Africa to Central America to the Asiatic steppes. The fox is also in Australia, where it's considered an invasive species.
