Dolphins Play Catch with a Pufferfish

Video showing young dolphins playing catch with a pufferfish. The pufferfish is one of the most deadly fish in the sea but that doesnt stop these unruly dolphins from playing a vigorous round of "Pass the Puffer."

Puffer fish are known to contain tetrodotoxin which in small amounts can kill a human within minutes. However, with dolphins, this toxin, according to experts, is known to create a narcotic effect when consumed in small amounts.

Pufferfish, in the family Tetraodontidae, exhibit significant diversity in size, appearance, and habitat, with over 200 species found globally in tropical and temperate waters, including some freshwater species. They are characterized by their ability to inflate their bodies as a defense mechanism, a trait that varies in its visibility of spines.
