Two Toed Sloth Eating Treats

Everything about a sloth is slow – including its metabolism - they will only defecate once per week and when they do so they can lose up to a third of their body weight. This is quite an event for a sloth as they have to lower themselves to the base of their trees to do so. This weird weekly routine remains one of the biggest mysteries surrounding sloth behaviour.
