More info: The Lorton Meadows Conservation Centre and Nature Reserve lie in the heart of the Lorton Valley, Weymouth. The 75 hectare site, originally farmland, has been managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust for wildlife and people since 1998.

The meadows are bounded by mature hedges and small woodlands, with seasonal streams and ponds and part of the species rich grassland is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Once they have a territory, Barn Owls tend to use the same nest site year after year and sometimes roost in the nest box over winter to retain the territory.
