More Info: The primary food sources for the bald eagles at Fort St Vrain include the river systems (St. Vrain and south Platte) with fish and turtles and a nearby prairie dog colony.

The eagles usually lay eggs between mid-February and early March. The eggs hatch in late March to early April and the young fledge in June.
