More info: Eleven of the thirteen species of geese found in North America have been spotted in Washington State. They are mainly winter visitors, except for Canada Geese, which can be spotted all year. Canada Geese breed in Canada and migrate for the winter to southern US states, but those in northern US states remain all year and do not migrate.

Canada geese are found near lakes and rivers and anywhere where there is a body of water and a good source of food. They also inhabit urban spaces such as parks, golf courses, reservoirs and beaches.
