More info: In italy, the Eurasian kestrel is a migrant and resident breeder, passage migrant and winter visitor. Eggs are usually laid in April to May, with a peak in the second half of April. Kestrel nestlings fledge in June to July. Passage migrants are usually observed in Italy between March and May and between August and November.

The kestrel shows diverse preferences for habitat and occurs in almost all types of landscape except dense forest areas and intensive farmland with a high use of pesticides. It also nests in urban areas, even large cities, sometimes breeding in small colonies.
