More info:
Common kestrels play a very important role in their ecosystem; these birds help control agricultural pests such as voles and mice which make up the biggest part of their diet.
Common kestrels require around 4 to 8 voles a day. If they catch more voles than they need, they will cache some for later consumption.
Common kestrels are found in Europe, Asia, and Africa. They are sedentary birds, but in the cold parts of their range, they migrate south in winter.
