More info: The Laguna de Boada is a restored wetland in Boada de Campos in the province of Palencia.

The Laguna de Boada was drained in the 1970s during the land consolidation process in order to increase the agricultural area of Tierra de Campos. At the end of the 1990s, the Boada de Campos city council, signed an agreement with the Global Nature Foundation for the lease of the land to restore the lagoon. In 1998, by transferring water from the Canal de Castilla through a stream, the wetland area was recovered and restored.

In summer you can see birds like lapwings, common teal, coot, Montagu's Harrier or Lesser Kestrel, as well as Great Bustard present all year round. The winter months are the best for birdwatching, with large numbers of ducks and Greylag Goose as well as Common Crane, Northern Lapwing and Merlin.
