The Little Owl is partly diurnal and is often seen perched during the daytime. They like to nest in holes in old trees and old buildings. During the breeding season three to five eggs are laid which hatch after 28 days of incubation by the female owl.

More info: The little owl (Athene noctua) is a raptor that inhabits much of the temperate and warmer parts of Europe. Little owls are cavity nesters and because of this they will readily adopt a nest box.
