North America is home to five species of loons: the Red-throated Loon, the Pacific Loon, the Arctic Loon, the Yellow-billed Loon, and the Common Loon.
The mission of the Loon Preservation Committee is to restore and maintain a healthy population of loons throughout New Hampshire, to monitor the health and productivity of loon populations, and to promote a greater understanding of loons and the larger natural world.
