More info: Black stork populations have increased in Poland due to protection of the species and its breeding grounds. One reason was the introduction in the 1970s and 1980s of beaver habitats which form pools suitable for breeding fish and amphibians. This significantly improved feeding conditions of storks that feed mainly on fish and amphibians.
