WHITE STORKS, LATVIA, LIVE WEBCAM

  • Info: Live streaming webcam showing European white storks nesting in Latvia. Latvia has a significant population of white storks, with an estimated 13,000 to 14,000 pairs nesting there.
    The Latvian Fund for Nature with the support of JSC "Sadales tīkls" is providing live broadcasts from the White Stork nest for another season.

More info: White storks are migratory and generally the first sightings of them returning to Latvia, are in March. Some les experienced birds and young storks may arrive in May. The first eggs are seen around mid to late April and they Hatch after 33 to 34 days.

Latvia has programs to aid stork nesting, including installing artificial nest platforms to help prevent disruptions to electricity supply and also to aid conservation efforts.
