More info:

Wildlife has always been plentiful in Schaumburg Township. Animals are attracted to this region between the Des Plaines and Fox rivers due to the many natural, low lying, water-filled, marshy areas. In addition, there are various branches of Salt Creek and Poplar Creek that feed into the two rivers. These creeks, the marshes and the ponds of Schaumburg Township provide a steady water supply for wildlife.
