More info: Sapi Private Reserve is a 128,000 hectare reserve in the extreme north of Zimbabwe and east of Mana Pools National Park. It was previously a hunting area but was established in 2016 by Great Plains Conservation as a beautiful private photographic reserve.

Good populations of many large African mammals are present, except for giraffe and wildebeeste (which are not found anywhere in the Zambezi valley), and the black rhinoceros which is endangered and now restricted to a few specially protected areas like the Matusadona and Hwange National Parks. Game viewers will see many other wildlife species including African wild dogs, leopards, large prides of lions, eland and zebra. Sapi Private Reserve is also an excellent option for birding safaris.

Project Rewild Zambezi is a $5.5 million initiative to relocate over 3,000 animals from the Savé Valley Conservancy into the Sapi Reserve.
