More info: The Pine snake is a nonvenomous snake native to the southeastern United States. It has has a long body, keeled scales, and a pointed snout and averages 48-66 inches (122-168 cm) in length.

These snakes are excellent burrowers, spending the majority of their time underground.They are known to build communal nests, with several females laying eggs in one spot.

The pine snake preys on rats, mice, moles and other small mammals and eggs. It often enters rodent burrows in search of a meal and is capable of catching multiple small animals at once by immobilising them against the burrows wall.
