More info: Magellanic penguins come from South America and are medium sized penguins weighing between 4-5 kg and approximately 70 cm tall. They can be found on both the Atlantic and Pacific sides of the continent, mainly in Argentina, Chile, and the Falkland Islands.
Magellanic penguins typically mate for life and return to the same nesting site from which they hatched, for the breeding season between September to mid-April. When the breeding season is over, Magellanic penguins migrate north for the winter to the more seasonable climes of Peru and Brazil.
